Frigidaire 36" Gas Cooktop

Made the right choice

Replaced a 20 yo Frigidaire gas cooktop with this model....wow! The increase in cooking power is unbelievable. We are on propane so used the conversion kit & it is important to adjust the low settings per the instructions. I would have given 5 stars if not for difficulty with the mounting clamps. Installed in granite and had to bend them slightly to get them in the slots but got them to work.

Nice Cooktop - horrible knobs

We have had our cooktop for less than 1 year and 2 knobs have broken already. The knobs seem to be very cheaply made as they break very easily. The cooktop is nice but hard to keep clean around the burners as well. We have to take the burners off each month and give the cooktop a good scrubbing. Overall its not worth the money and hassle to constantly be worrying if your cooktop knob will hold together and last through meal prep.

Love the range but knobs are bad

I love this range™€¦ I do! But I already replaced the 5 knobs as the bottom part keeps breaking almost like the plastic melts! And now another two have broken! And you have to pay an average of $50 per knob™€¦. It is getting expensive™€¦ maybe another stove will be cheaper !

Broken stem just months after purchase

Cooktop is broken months after purchase and service will be 2.5 weeks. We have no cooktop for almost three weeks because this poorly made appliance and even worse customer service (not the service agents, the systems in place are garbage). This is the second Frigidaire appliance we have that broke since we bought them new a few months ago. This company needs to take a very long look in the mirror. Appliances should work. We have many other appliances and Frigidaire is continually the one with all the problems. Very unhappy and a never-again customer.

Cheap knobs

Bought this 9 months ago and four knobs have broken and another one is cracked and on its way out. So disappointed in the cheap quality of the knobs I called and was told factory warranty doesn™€™t qualify for parts but the rest of the cooktop is great!

Nice Upgrade

We just installed this new cooktop and it works and looks great, so far. It is definitely an upgrade from the ancient one it replaced! Only criticism so far: The written instructions call for 1/2" hardware, but the unit requires 3/8". We had to go back to the store for different hardware. Please update the instructions.

Excellent burner heat

I bought this unit to replace a broken gas on glass 36" GE unit. I had to cut the granite on 3 sides to get this 36" unit in place. The grates are substantial. The burner heat is excellent.Compared to the other features, the plastic knobs are rather cheap. I can see how they could easily break as there is a bit of heat transfer to that area of the cooktop and the diameter of the shift is smallish. I am trying to figure out how to make them more substantial to hopefully avoid breakage.

Perfect replacement cooktop for us

We needed to replace our 36" gas cooktop and this one is even better than our previous. Besides being new and shiny, it's easier to clean, has better ergonomics with controls in the front and tilted, and we love the different burner sizes and powers. Most important in our decision to select this unit was the complete coverage of the grates across the top.

installation was very easy., with very clear instructions. The cooking surface allows for multiple pans to be used simultaneously, and with the large cast iron grills, pans can be moved without worry of spilling. the various burners are a real convenience.

Super heating capacity

Great gas cooktop, produces far better flame and heat than my last cooktop. Would buy again. My only negative is that the ceramic coating is flaking off in the creases around the center burner and the coating is really substandard with orange peal texture in areas. Tried contacting Frigidaire and continually get message to call back later. Still it™€™s a great cooktop. Just wish I could get a solution to the pealing coating.

bad engineering of the control knobs

As other people have noted, my 6 month old cooktop #FFGC3626 has had two of the cheaply made plastic control knobs split & become non-functional. I've found these $2 parts can be replaced for $45 each. I will never buy Fridgidaire products (that of course are made in China) again. I think I'll go to yelp next (it will be my 1st time)

We've had this new stove top for about a month now and it works perfectly! It looks good, performs great and is easy to clean. Having 5 burners with one specified for simmering provides flexibility when cooking. The grates can handle any size and weight cooking pans. So far I would have to say we got great value for a moderately priced gas stove top. We are pleased with this purchase.

Bought this cooktop 1:because it had knobs all in a row 2:came in all Black 3:was the size I was looking for 36™€ 4: Best value for the price. 5: All the features to it. I looked and reviewed many gas cooktops before purchasing this one. I am so happy with it. I love that I can use many pots and pans without having issues. Would really have preferred knobs to one side but Still love this.

Love gas cooking!! Easy to use. Burners adjust simply. With different size burners, I cook multiple sized pots at the same time, no juggling pots around as I had to do with the electric/glass cooktop. Grates are heavy, but manageable for cleaning.

We have had this installed for 1 month now. Our old range bit the dust. We wanted a gas cook top and electric oven(s) based on feedback we have heard from those with gas cook tops. It is truly amazing how much nicer it is to cook on gas vs. electric. I saw some reviews on the knob handles not holding up. They are very sturdy. I could see them breaking if they are whacked with a pot or one of the grates, but I believe just about any knob would break in those circumstances. Other cook tops had hinged grates which would make cleaning a good bit easier; however, these grate are not difficult to remove. The design keeps the mess out of the burners and it cleans up easily. So if looking to not pay a ridiculous amount and want a gas cook top with electric igniter for near the price of ones without it, then this is a good pick. Once additional item that made up my mind to get this cook top was that it came with the LP conversion kit which I needed. As noted in the title, it had everything I needed along with a few wants. Not all the wants, but enough and at a great price.

Grate Cracked after First Use

The right side burner grate cracked after the first use. Crack was not there when first installed - it is easily seen when you pick up the grate to clean. The grate is considered an accessory so it is not covered under the warranty. . Cost for a new one is almost 1/4 of what I paid for the cooktop. How can you consider the grate an accessory - you can't use the cooktop without a grate. Guess I should have made my purchase based on what is covered in the warranty. PS - system will not let me add a photo?

I bought this about a month ago and I absolutely love it! It has so much space to cook and it cooks everything very quickly without burning. I love the top grates over the burners because they are heavy duty but easy to clean. I looked at other gas cook tops and this price was the cheapest which I was skeptical if it would be any good but it is amazing! Probably the best cook top I have ever had!

the stove top cleans up easily and puts out ample amount of heat. the low flame on the small burners is nice, it holds the flame at a constant level where most stove top go out at the lowest setting.
