After two Mieles sequentially died of old age (5-7 years each) I purchased this Frigidaire model. It has performed flawlessly, matching the experience I had with the Mieles for almost 1/3 the price. I only miss the timed cook feature, and appreciate the slightly more audible timer tone.

Great Gallery Cooktop

Love this new cooktop - great for a back up for extra cooking space. Not loving the slide controls - much prefer the knobs on my other new Frigidaire cooktop - but this one is a great size and works fine, now that we got the eye plugged in. Technician was here within a day or so after we reported that one eye wouldn't work - got it fixed in 10. Hope to enjoy this cooktop for a long while.

Every time she cleaned up spills or grease spatters on our gas cooktop, my wife wife would mutter about wanting to replace it with an induction cooktop. Convinced that gas was untouchable as the best way to cook, I resisted. After surviving a small explosion when a small particle blocked a gas vent on one of the burners, reading concerns about gas contributing to respiratory problems, and doing some research, I relented and bought this Frigidaire cooktop. We definitely do not regret making the change. Aside from the ease of cleanup with the seamless glass top, the cooking performance of this induction stove was a pleasant surprise. The heat control outperforms gas, a pot of water comes to a boil in less than 2 minutes (more than twice as fast as our old gas top), simmering performance easily beats gas, and did I mention how easy this is to clean up? The controls are easy to use and have no knobs to get in the way or clean up around, and to date we have found no negatives whatsoever other than having to replace a couple of aluminum pots that don™€™t work with induction. This unit was more affordable than comparable ones from other manufacturers and has all the features we were interested in. Very happy with our choice.

Very happy with this cooktop. Had a Bosch induction before, this one is not quite as powerful but the controls are much more intuitive. Auto-sizing seems to work well. Only negatives I™€™ve noticed are cycling on/off at low settings, and it beeps at you if you pick up the pan briefly. There is also a funny smell from underneath while in use - but imagine that will go away after more uses.

We purchased a home with an older Wolf stovetop. Shortly after moving in and using the unit the touch top ribbon malfunctioned. The replacement part was unavailable. I replaced it with a Frigidaire 36™€ induction stovetop. It seems to be an incredible replacement and I am thoroughly enjoying cooking with/on it!!

Simple and easy to use

This induction cooktop automatically adjusts to the size of your pan, making it much easier to use than other models. It is a very simple unit. You control heat output, but there is no heat sensor system or other complications. The timer is not connected to the burners. It is just a timer. We have found that the 10 levels of heat give enough precision that we have been able to cook pancakes, simmer stews, fry eggs or anything else we have tried so far. We haven't yet tried high heat searing. Of course, cleanup is so easy compared to our old gas cooktop and it looks great! Installation was fairly simple, but we did have to have an electrician pull a new 40 amp circuit.

Total bummer. Worked approx 3 days without a smell. Then a horrible burning plastic smell when cooking. Had to get the carbon air filter going to clear the smell. Called for service and the tech promptly came out. The tech says it is fine. What is a consumer to do? Am I supposed to smell burned plastic every time I cook? The tech says to keep using it and see if it goes away! It wasn't there when it first turned on and is getting worse. Frigidaire, come on, do better. I don't care to have the fumes in my house and my kids breathing it. Contact me.

The smoothtop is very easy to clean due to the induction heating because it does not scorch liquids onto the surface and touchscreen controls because there are no buttons to clean around. The power boil setting boils a large pot of water in just a few minutes.

I retired my aging and expensive Bosch gas cooktop and purchased this induction model. We were tired of cleaning the gas burners and grates and the well underneath that captured and baked on all the cooking debris. It took oven cleaner and elbow grease to get it clean and the aluminum scratched. All we do now is wipe off the glass top with a sponge after each meal. My wife likes the sleek look. As a serious home cook, I™€™m impressed with the power and range of the burners. The P setting boils water faster than my biggest gas burner and the low settings are much lower than a flame can go, which is great for butter or chocolate. They heat more evenly than my gas unit too. I did have to donate a few aluminum pans, but I don™€™t mind an excuse to buy a new pan or two ;) I appreciate the simple and intuitive controls too. I don™€™t need wi-fi to fry an egg. Overall, I™€™m super happy with this unit and have zero complaints!

My husband has severe asthma and recent articles about the possible exacerbation of asthma symptoms and gas stove / cooktops in the home prompted us to replace our five-burner gas cooktop with a Frigidaire 36" induction unit. It did require the installation of a dedicated 220 power supply but we are delighted with the cooktop. It looks amazing, just a flat panel of black glass; in fact, we're getting new granite countertops installed and the technician said they can seat the cooktop seamlessly into the granite so it will all be smooth, single flat surface with no apparent edges. Given the increasing reports of the negative health effects of indoor sources of gas, switching to this Frigidaire unit was the right thing to do, absolutely. In use the unit is as impressive as it looks; the controls are simple, the rate at which food cooks is almost unreal, and cleanup is as easy as wiping a damp sponge across the cooled surface. For reasons of health, aesthetics and ease of food preparation and cleanup, we could not be happier, or more satisfied, with this Frigidaire product!

Solid, economical cooktop

We bought this to replace our older Frigidaire induction cooktop (the glass had cracked.) So far, so good - it is a bit more powerful than the previous one and burner sizing also adjusts to the pan, within a range. Having the largest burner in the center is also a plus. The controls can be a little bit of a challenge - they're quite sensitive to moisture and water/food drips that land on the control panel can activate buttons unintentionally. The sliders can also be a little finicky as others have mentioned (especially with wet hands.) Overall, happy with this purchase.

Overall this is a good product. However, it randomly shuts off when using it. If I wipe up a spill it beeps and shuts down. Sometimes it does it for no reason at all. It™€™s very inconvenient.

We just installed the cooktop and an electrician connected it - and I fried the first eggs. It is incredibly fast compared to the gas stove.I have to say, we did lift the glass and checked the location of the magnets as suggested by so many online postings and sure enough, four of the five were totally out of place. Fortunately, all of the little rubber boots were still there, and none of them got lost in the electronics. We wiggled them back into their brackets, attached the magnets properly, and put the cover on again. Voila, was a matter of 30 min, not a big deal.Possible that other cooktops do not have that issue, but the price/value you get with this frigidaire model is unbeatable. The autodetection for the pans/pots works impeccably, a small pot on the big "burner" is not a problem. We are very happy!

I had been reading articles about induction cooking for some time, but had a good ceramic cooktop and didn't think an induction cooking top could be that much better. Then, PGE offered a rebate for induction cooktops, and Frigidaire had a sale on a top rated model, so I went for it. The difference in cooking speed and heat control was astounding. On the induction cooktop, I can bring my frying pan to cooking temperature in 18 seconds. I no longer have to put my frying pan on the stove several minutes ahead of time to heat up as I put the ingredients together. Now, I can get everything together, put the olive oil in the pan, and be ready to put the ingredients in the hot pan in 18 seconds, faster than I ever achieved when I cooked with gas in the past. Control of the temperature is instantaneous and it is easy to maintain an even temperature. When finished, the cooktop cools very quickly when you remove the pan. Because the cooktop cools quickly, it is easy to clean up. I could not be happier with my Frigidaire induction cooktop. It more than met my expectations.

Looks really great on our dark granite counter top - with the completely flat surface you barely know its there which we love. Controls are straight forward and easy to use. Auto size selection is great. The power boil is incredible Cleanup is breeze. There is a bit of learning curve on which settings to use for particular cooking tasks however. You do have to learn to adjust your cooking habits though, you don't have anywhere near as much prep time as you do would with an electric or gas cooktop since it is ready so quickly.
