I don™€™t recommend this range hood! I™€™ve had it for 2 years. One of the halogen light bulbs went out. I downloaded the owners manual to see how to remove and replace the bulb. I ordered a new bulb through the retailer and it cost $47.00 including shipping. Neither my husband or I could get the dead lightbulb out following the directions. I had bought cotton gloves per the instructions to install the new bulb. Next we paid a well respected handy man in our area to get the light bulb out. He couldn™€™t get it out either so actually removed the whole unit in the effort. Finally he got the bulb out and then reinstalled the range hood and new light bulb. After he left I checked and the new bulb was working but the fan was not!!! I had no alternative but to call the retailer who arranged to send an appliance repairman to our town for $139.00. This guy did get the fan going. It SHOULD NOT be this difficult to change a light bulb! I am disgusted and am out lots of money and time to get this bulb and range hood working. During this disaster I went 2 months with inadequate light and had to set a lamp next to my range to see to cook. I DO NOT recommend this range hood! This process was ridiculous!

The push buttons pop out at you if you don™€™t hold it in when turning it off. I went round and round with customer service. I tried parts and warranty. It™€™s a design flaw I guess they don™€™t care that it ducks if it™€™s out of warranty. One department offered the button at about $30. But it™€™s out of stock. Mine was list inside the vent a hood after popping off. Unretrievable. The warranty Dept doesn™€™t even know there is just a button and wanted to sell me the button assembly. $267 I just need the button.

Horrible hood

Same with the new home. The buttons keep popping this hood and they won't reattach firmly. I now have 2 of 5 buttons missing. This thing is a piece of junk! Would give it zero stars if I could.

I agree all negative reviews below. This hood came with my new house. it just is about 2 years. all buttons keeps popping off the range hood.. Also very noisy Fan. Do not Buy..Also very hard to find new grease filter.

Junk - Buttons and Very Noisy Fan

Came with the house. The Fan Speed 1 button (speed level 1 is the only tolerable noise level) popped out, so of course, you try to fix it by putting it back in the hole. Now it is lost forever. Should not have purchased the house with these junk appliances in it. I'm planning to replace all of them with Whirlpool Gold.

Buttons Again

I wrote a review a month or so ago here (today is 5/5/21) regarding the issue of the buttons popping off the range hood and then losing them inside the unit when trying to put them back on. Frigidaire/Electrolux reached out to me via e-mail and the only solution is to buy part # 5304491590 which is the entire Push Button Switch. The price was over $200 although they did offer me a 20% discount. But I would also have to have it installed which would be an additional expense. However, I don't need the whole switch. The unit works fine. I only need one metal button. Very disappointed with the product and the inability to order just one button.

Same issue with buttons. Lost one inside the front of the unit and can™€™t recover it. Tried to call the customer service line but couldn™€™t get through due to high call volume. Wouldn™€™t allow me to leave a call back number. Very lousy experience. Build a better product and improve your service to customers please.

This range hood has halogen lights that last about 30-45 days each and cost over $20 each to replace and you'll need to hire a technician to change them. Light bulb replacement will cost more in the first year than the hood.

I like the design, love the fan speeds. BUT It has only been a month since it was installed. One of the lights burned out immediately. I just discovered the other one has burned out. Here is my dilemma. I don't have a section cup to remove the bulbs.A search on the internet shows the bulbs cost 55 dollars. If mine has burned out after a month of on and off use (meaning not always on) There is a bigger problem

The unit works fine, but the fan and light buttons are horribly designed. Once they fall into the unit (which, one by one, they do), they appear lost forever. It would be nice if Electrolux would post a solution for this rather common problem instead of sending us to the pointless chat with customer support.

The off and on 'switches' (little metal rods) are outdated, prone to break and very uncomfortable to push. I was also surprised that a range hood in this price range only has one light setting. The lights are nice and bright, and the unit looks good. I hope it lasts.

Noisy and cheap feeling

So I purchased my home in Jan of 2020 and it was already in placed by the builder. I love the look of it....works nicely. The light bulbs went out pretty quick I think.....I've only been in the home a few months and had to replace them. And one of the buttons popped off the front.... I actually need to see what to do about that.....but I do like the look of the stainless steel and that it has 3 settings for the fan....

We replaced this Range hood previously as the halogen bulb was not turning on and once the warranted ended not the buttons are popping out and one of the halogen bulbs is turning on. Looks like based on all reviews other users also having same issues. Not sure if something can be with out warranty.

Fan Speed Buttons failure

Our FHWC3640MS Range Vent hood is useless. The 3 buttons that control the speed have all broken and fallen inside the unit. I called Frig/Electrolux and they said any service would have to be paid for. My answer is to find another nonFrig supplier. Also the replacement filter for this junk comes apart on the sides and has to be tucked back in. Also this so called Stainless Steel hood is rusting at the seams.

Missing control buttons

Control buttons are junk. The same problem as many below have stated. First they pop off and when you try to re-insert to screw back on they fall inside. I only have the lowest setting button left, along with the light and on/off button. Is there a way to remove the panel to get into the unit to screw them back on properly?

Troublesome push-button controls

The push-buttons pins on this junk keep popping out when pressed. With the last pop-out, I tried reinserting the in pin through the now-vacant hole and it fell loosely inside the hood. Now I have no button for mid-level fan, and I don't see any easy way to gain access to the inside of the hood. It's just a button and you couldn't engineer a better solution than this?

Sleek and easy to install

Great hood, performs as advertised. Not too loud, lighting is very good over the stove. The laser cut plastic covering was a bit of a pain to get off, but the install was quick and easy. Nice to have the option to vent outside or recirculate. Happy with our purchase so far!

Awful Button Design

This unit came builder-installed in my house. The actual performance of the unit is decent. The major problem with the vent hood is the control buttons. There are 3 speed buttons and an OFF button. When you push a speed button, that button stays depressed until you press another speed button or the OFF button, at which time the previously depressed button pops back out. When pressing another button, you must hold your finger over the depressed button that is about to pop out because that button WILL fly completely out of the unit, which is really annoying. What's worse is that when trying to fish the buttons back into place they are really easy to accidentally lose in the unit as you blindly search for the peg it is supposed to slide onto. I have now lost 2 buttons inside my vent hood that are impossible to recover without disassembly of the unit.Even worse, still, is the fact that Frigidaire will not sell you individual replacement buttons to replace the ones hopelessly lost in your design-flawed vent hood. They will only sell you the entire control board with all buttons for somewhere around the cost of a completely new unit. If you want a trouble-free vent hood made by a customer-service oriented company that stands behind it's products, look somewhere else.

It's been 2 months I have been using this new range hood. Bulbs went away in a month and I found LED replacement in HomeDepot and I replaced it. Cons:I feel the fan and light switches are cheaply made. Mesh is very delicate and we have to very carefully with it. Pros:Looks wise is sleek and good. I have not seen any issue with functioning. LED lights are bright and that's very helpful.

It was part of a package that came with my new house, and so far so good. It does sucks in the smoke or vapors from whatever you're cooking. The lighting on it is amazing. The down side of it, is that it's a little loud when you put it on number 2. When you go to number 3, I really have to turn my tv very loud since my house has an open concept living room and kitchen. Another thing I wasn't a fan of are the very old fashioned push buttons that make that loud sound when you press them down. It there's an "on/off" button that I don't understand. To turn it on, all you have to do is push one of the numbers. To turn it off, you do have to use the off button that says "on/off". So really, the "on/off" button should really be an "off" button. I would recommend it to someone if they don't really mind the loud fan sound. I don't really mind it, but it's kind of annoying sometimes.

A Perfect Fit

With limited space available and having looked a dozen options I chose the Frigidare Range Hood for it's size and looks. The only problem I encountered was in the mounting stage. The position of the holes for mounting were too close to the cabinet edge and the screws provided were too small to hold the hood in place. Other than that the hood works and looks beautifully.

I bought it 8 mos ago the fan button broke and it was removed from my home right away. It took over a month to get it replaced. I was not allowed to pay extra for an upgrade, only exchange same cheap made hood.Button fell inside of hood.Too loud.

WORST Range Hood

Bought this range hood a couple of years ago for a kitchen remodel, but we didn't install it until the warranty was almost up. Within a couple of uses, the buttons started popping out, and shortly thereafter, two buttons fell into the unit. We have tried to access the fallen buttons by taking out the filter and trying to pop off the plastic end caps to no avail. Not only is it a total eyesore to have gaping holes where there should be buttons, but we can't change the fan speed on the unit because there is only one button remaining. As others have mentioned, a replacement control panel will cost about $160-$190. This unit is a piece of junk. Do NOT waste your money.
