Hard to find a basic 4 burner with good features

We wanted to replace an 18 year old similar model from a different brand. It was hard to find a 4 burner with an in-oven broiler, and lower storage drawer. So far we are very pleased. Haven't used the oven or broiler yet, other than to test it out and verify temperature accuracy.

Pros: I like the individual grates. Makes it easy to lift off and clean and the broiler is in the oven. Only con is the drawer for pots is a little flimsy. I just don't put too many heavy items in it. Overall love cooking with gas again after having used an electric stove for a while.

Nice range that works well. Perfect for what we needed. We've only have had it for less than a month, but so far so good. The only issue has been with the oven's temperature, which we have been able to adjust with the "Special Feature" options. Be sure to check the temperature when preheating, it's usually a little off too.

There are no fancy features on this stove, yet it is a great appliance. Easy to use, cooks great. I like that the stove has the broiler in the oven and the bottom drawer is for storage. Also, the self cleaning function works..thoroughly cleans. All you have to do is clean out the ash left behind, after the oven has cooled.

This model is similar to the 19 yo model we had but one feature change I don't like is that the burner knobs can now be turned on without passing the igniter switch, as you have to turn the knob all the way to the end to light the burner. The knobs only turn one way and it starts at low to high, then ignition. My old GE knobs had the ignition at the start, which was the high setting, then turning down to low. You couldn't turn on the burner without passing the ignition. You can now accidentally turn on the gas without the ignition firing, which seems to be a bad feature

Purchased to replace my 25 year old almost identical GE range, which still functioned beautifully, but for which a new oven temperature knob could not be found - anywhere! Got tired of using an oven temperature gauge and a pair of pliers to turn the metal stub control on. Quality of the new range is not the same, as with everything these days. Small differences in construction that I'd thought would not matter, have actually. The most noticeable is the placement of burners, which are now set further in from the sides, and higher due to being sealed, making the center space between the four burners smaller. The metal on the stovetop is also thinner. All of this contributes to the entire stovetop becoming too hot when more than one burner is used at a time. They are also no longer centered to the pan which must be placed off center on the grate in order to be centered over the burner. I loved my original GE range. This is a concession I will have to get used to, as all other ranges now have the big heavy and difficult to clean grates that I will never buy. I suggest having more women with experience cooking to help with design, and go back to the quality of metal previously used. Disappointment gives me concern for how long this one will last.

I chose this model, because it was very similar to the one it was replacing. It fit the space, has the features I wanted: gas hookup, white finish, electronic panel, timed oven cooking, self-cleaning, and in-oven broiler. I would have preferred a flat top panel instead of curved for storing my salt & pepper shakers, but it's minor detail.

We bought this to replace a 2000 model (almost identical). The old model had gray pans which we miss. The burners themselves are not as heavy duty as the original. The overall look is better. GE changed position of the pressure regulator, and it collided with the gas line, so we had to adapt it with an ell, in order to get the stove all the way to the wall. wondered why GE did that.

I bought this range to replace a 26-year-old GE that came new with the house and have had it now for about six months. Pros: Easy to clean. Oven temperature is accurate and things bake evenly. Has a bottom drawer for storage. Cons: Entire stovetop gets very hot while the oven is on; the two left burner knobs also get quite warm. Burners take longer to heat things than the old model; even my kids have complained about the amount of time it now takes to boil water. The electronic touch pad for the oven and timer is not as efficient as knobs. Overall quality does not seem as good as the old one.
