I'm really kind of disappointed there is no volume control for the beeper. For those of us who are a bit hard of hearing, this is quite unsatisfactory. (I can always use a timer app on my phone, if it is only a timing setting, but if the sound is tied to a function like defrosting ... nope.)

We bought this exact microwave and began using it in January of 2019. In April of 2022 it was dead. Tried several repairs to no avail. I hated to do this, but because it is Slate in color, a built in, and matches the other appliances in our GE set, we were pretty much forced to by the exact same microwave. Bummed. I'm assuming this one will be "disposable" too.

In comparison the previous exact model, this one feels and sounds tinny when closing the door. The glass turntable is raised about a half inch instead of being recessed. It is lacking a printed reminder of cooking times for various features on the inside of the door. I hope it lasts longer than the last one.

Buttons are hard to see

The microwave works fine. The buttons are very hard to see, the either need to be lighter in color or backlit. We only bought this to match what we already have but our first GE microwave and refrigerator both had to be replaced within 7 years. Things just don't last like they used to!

This is the second of this microwave we've had in about 5 years. This last one was installed in November and it's already glitching. I'm sure it's only matter of time before it dies too. The parts are so expensive it doesn't make sense to fix it. The color limits my options. I'd rather go back to stainless steel than buying this again. Don't buy.

I like the look of the slate finish. It's easier to clean and doesn't leave scratches and dents like stainless steel does. The one dislike is the control panel buttons are somewhat hard to see, especially if the lights are dim in the kitchen. Otherwise, the product performs well and very quietly.

This is more like a Replica to be fair.Vent Fan is always on. This seems as if it was put together by using parts that aren't GE quality. Something seems fishy. The shud on the door isn't smooth, the build quality isn't anywhere near as the previous ones, and it seems like it was fudged together using rough finished materials.
