Disappointed with cook top

I had another brand glass cooktop for 21 years and not one scratch. I have my new cooktop 4 months and I have tiny scratches that I can't polish out. The top has marks after each meal and needs to be polished constantly. Very poor product I am so sorry I purchased this product. I wish that I had pay more attention to the reviews about scratches. I thought it was due to their carelessness but it is the inferior product.

I replaced aGE cooktop that had knobs as controls. It was too difficult to clean them especially if I was frying food. This has no knobs. I keep it on lock so that the burners will not turn on when touching them unless that I what I want to do. The quick boil is truly quick. I have options that I love. Namely, I can choose between 3 pot/pan size burners. I can also link two burners together to put a griddle on top. I know that true chefs like a gas stove but they are much too hard to clean. Also, there is not guesswork when a recipe calls for medium or simmer as temperatures can be easily controlled .
As far as cleaning goes, I can use some glass cleaner with a microfiber cloth, and it comes clean and streak free. Do you get that I truly looooove this cooktop? You bet!!!

We thought this would be an excellent cook top. We followed the instructions about having a straight edged pan. First time we heated water we were left with several scratches on the burner.

This replaced an electric cooktop with knobs. My only complaint is when you put anything on it that you're not cooking, it beeps. Even while your cleaning it. Very sensitive does the job. So far so good. Glad I purchased

The controls are super easy to use and the extras on this cooktop are really great. The power boil is quite simply incredible. Having a timer built-in to the cooktop is also very useful. I also like the idea that the controls can be locked to prevent accidentally turning them on.

We've only had the cooktop for a couple of days now. This replaced an older (14 year) GE Profile cooktop that developed a bad burner with no replacement available. Works great and looks clean and neat. If there were one improvement that we could wish for is that the controls need to be a little more visible in dim lighting. Very easy to control and so far very pleased with the product.

We like the way it looks and find it easy to use. We had a ceramic cooktop with dials before and this is much easier to clean and managing the touch controls is easy. We like the lock out feature as we have young granddaughters. The built in timer is very handy.

...BUT cleaning the glass top is a joke and takes too much effort despite having all the recommended cleaning products. Even when you get the cooked on off, just wiping it down always leaves a haze that requires effort to remove. Major design problem which I suspect is common to all glass cook tops.

The touch controls are intuitive and well designed. The ease of selecting burner temperature, and the power for each burner is excellent. The burner sync feature is a great for griddles, and the power boil is slightly faster than normal boil time from cold water. The timer is simple and good.
Glass is easily damaged. Be sure to examine carefully. Overall 4 stars between the strength of the design and durability of glass.
Looking forward to many years of entertaining family and friends with this unit. Thanks!

I wasn't sure I would like this but I do. I had a Termadore Cook and Vent which had to be replaced after 25 years. I loved it and wasn't happy to have to replace it. I lost the grill and the cover that I used to place items on. I was afraid to set things on this new top for fear of scratching it, No sample of cleaning product came with the stove top. One of my friends with a similar stove top suggested a product which cleans the top beautifully. I have come to love the touch top ,especially the ability to turn off all the elements when not in use. I am not as afraid to set things on the top as I was at first. I did have to get rid of my Club aluminum pans but had enough others that work. Have not used it yet for canning. My canning kettle bottom is not smooth. The info says it will work but just not as quickly.

We had to replace a Dacor cooktop after twenty years and I'm disappointed that technology hasn't improved the durability of the surface material. Granted, it takes a bit of effort to keep the surface spotless clean with spills and splatters, but it's the faint scratches that bother me most. Manual says not to slide pots and pans over the surface because it can cause scratches. Don't slide or shake pans across surface-are you kidding me? Have the creators ever cooked? Am I supposed to lift a large saucepan with one hand to shake while I'm whisking my sauce/gravy with the other hand? NOT realistic and the surface scratches WAY to easily. My Dacor didn't scratch like this one does. Again-you'd think our technology in materials had improved in the last twenty years.

The cooktop looks good and the installation was great. Highly recommend the group from Beat Buy in Bel Air. The controls are on the front center of the unit and are sensitive to anything you place on them. I'm used to the controls being on the side of the cooktop so this is my only concern as I get used to this setup.

I am loving my new cooktop. We replaced a GE profile that was installed in 1996 they really last. The only thing wrong with the old one was the halogen burner quit. I love not having knobs to clean around and the rim is gone makes overall cleaning easier.
