Replaced my 12 yr old that died

I've only had this a few weeks...thus far it has been a good replacement for my prior fridge which I really loved. The interior is almost exactly the same, in fact I was able to take my slide-out shelves from the old fridge and replace the stationary ones in the new one...the brackets are exactly the same. We had to set the "legs" in place since every time I pulled open the freezer drawer the whole fridge would roll from its place; that had never happened with my old fridge. The ice cubes are almost "mini" sized but thus far the ice-maker is working well. There are occasional clicking sounds from the unit. I had no problems over the entire 12 years with the prior fridge; I am hopeful that this new one does at least as well. The shiny black is very pretty and is an adequate replacement for my black glass fronted one it replaced.

Perfect replacement for my old Fridge

We originally had a Maytag model in a custom cabinet arrangement so when it went out we were able to find exact size replacement in a Whirlpool model. The old Maytag made a lot of noise but the new Whirlpool is very quiet. Very happy with this choice as our choices were very limited. Ironically, we had a Maytag wall oven that was an under performer and about 2 years ago we replaced that with a Whirlpool that performs like a champion! Very happy with the Whirlpool group and will definitely give them first look in the future.

Installed on Aug 9th, 2019. Have ice build-up in freezer compartment and freezer door top on right side (viewed from front of unit). The seal does not make adequate contact when the door is closed. The Refrigerator is level left to right, and has a slight tilt front to back to help insure that the door closes.

I read hundreds of reviews before deciding on this refrigerator. I've had it for a couple months now and really like the look and functionality. I struggled with the decision to get ice & water on the door or not. I chose not to and I'm glad I did. Yes, the ice maker in the freezer takes up a lot of space and the water dispenser inside the fridge is a little less convenient but it give the fridge a much cleaner look. And I just didn't like the idea of the ice maker in the fridge compartment. Two down sides (which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) - freezer compartment is quite small and I'm getting occasional moisture buildup on the left French door. Neither of these issues are a deal breaker and I would recommend this fridge to anyone.

New fridge

We bought this fridge to replace our 15 y/o KitchenAid fridge. It's exactly the same only with french doors. The french doors make it much more accessible in our space. I do wish it had the same finish as our old KitchenAid to hide finger prints. I love the new LED lighting and the temp controls. Very pleased with it so far.

Water leak

I am calling Whirlpool service today to have someone come about on a service call. Shouldn't happen with a new refrigerator. Last refrigerator was a Whirlpool that was great. Poor interior design makes it less usable that it should be and it's now started to make a louder noise that it originally did. The drawers are cheap plastic and do not open and close easily. It looks nice. The temperature stays at a nice 38 degrees. I love the wide interior pantry door.

Only a couple weeks in but loving this fridge. Much bigger space for food and pizza box doesn't have to go in angled. Even will fit a turkey! (Had a side by side before.) Easy access and can see what's inside! Had a corner spot that required counter depth, and a cabinet overhead. Regular size fridge was not an option. Only want made in USA. Now have Whirlpool, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Keep up the good work!

It is, however, difficult to use the water dispenser without spilling. And the freezer compartment is smaller and less usable than I had hoped, with the ice tray taking up half of one shelf.

The counter-depth refrigerator fits into our kitchen perfectly. My hubby was set on a bottom freezer and no in-door water/ice dispenser and this was actually one of the only fridges that fit the bill. If I could just figure out how to lock the wheels in place so the fridge didn't pull away from the wall every time I opened the freezer drawer, life would be perfect.

I got my new fridge a week ago. I set the temperature to the recommended setting in the fridge and freezer. Within 2 days I had frozen milk in the carton, frozen salad and my freezer had already frosted up to the point that I had to take the build up and throw it in the sink. This morning my husband couldn't open the freezer because there was so much buildup of ice. He finally got it open & discarded the ice. We set the fridge to 43 and the freezer to 4. This has helped with not freezing in the fridge but not the ice buildup in the freezer. Not really happy with this product.

We first purchased a 22 cu. ft.bottom freezer and were disappointed because it stuck out in the room so far and my short wife couldn't reach the back of the top shelf. Then we found the counter depth french door 20 cu. ft. It fit the opening perfectly and more than enough space for us. If the seller had just suggested the counter depth frig first, we wouldn't have had to exchange and wait for the new one. Love it.

I've had this appliance for more than 2 years and generally like the unit. It sometimes makes a humming noise which results from either the compressor or the vibration from the items places inside on the doors. Since it's a bottom freezer (and how they are designed) the freezer fails to be as functional as it would otherwise (for instance when baking needing put a baking sheet with food on it to chill becomes a challenge).

Sleek lines; no unnecessary indicators, or lights on the doors, the nice black color matches the other European appliances in the kitchen; slate, black SS or white would have been horrible. Good accessibility, water dispenser is conveniently located inside and saves space. very happy with the product; this counter depth fridge seems more spacious than the previous 36 in deep monster we had. Water tastes like it should; ice maker is fast. However upon installation, we broke a glass shelf; it was strangely packed. Beautiful fridge. But noisy!

After months of careful review and looking for the perfect French Door refrigerator to replace our 23 year old fridge, we bought the Whirlpool french door in black. (Although we loved the looks of the black stainless, the traditional black matches my existing appliances.) We could not be happier with the look but it is loud! There is a loud hum and vibration when the fridge is running that is very annoying. I plan to call for service and will edit this review if the problem is solved. It is less than a month old!

Two door fridge

I am not happy with the bottom drawer. both doors have to be open to access it. They entire lay out of the fridge is awkward and actually takes away space.

Love the counter depth and design...it added about 6 inches of walkway space for us. Coming to this from a side by side so I really like the convenience and design of the refrigerator portion. Although I lost some depth, the width and height seem to compensate well. The only thing I don't like is that the shelves don't extend to the back of the fridge. There's a good 1.5 inch gap for things to teeter into or fall through. I wasn't sure Id like the drawer freezer but its working out quite well. I'm super pleased that we purchased this brand and model..I feel like I have a brand new kitchen.

I am moving and my old fridge would not fit into the new space.. But - this new fridge is exactly the same but dimensionally perfect! I am happy to have the best of both worlds. I'll be leaving behind my reliable / versatile old fridge and getting it's new twin in the process!
